  • This 255 hectares nature reserve (private property) is located in the North West section of Rome, between Via Aurelia and Via Boccea. It gets its name from the freshness of the water of the Fosso della Magliana. Despite the urbanization of its surroundings, it is not rare to see foxes in the fields and kestrels in flight. The park is a series of hills and little valleys according to the classic topography of the Roman countryside. The area has always been characterized by agro-pastoral activities. Also worth visiting is the 20th century Villa Fogaccia and the ancient Torre dell’Acquafredda. We recommend you take a walk through the Sentiero Natura La Torre with an entrance on Via di Acquafredda just under the tower: a one-kilometer walk with informational boards (but without water supply points) that is accessible all year round. Recently, a counter selling local fruits and vegetables to the public has been opened at the tower.
